VeriFlora certification is conducted by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a leader in independent third party verification and sustainable agriculture, fisheries and forestry standards development. The VeriFlora standard is fully compliant with the Draft American National Standard for Sustainable Agriculture (SCS-001) published in April 2007 by the American National Standards Institute. SCS-001 provides a comprehensive framework and common set of environmental, social and quality requirements which demonstrate that an agricultural product has been produced and handled in a sustainable manner, from soil preparation and seed planting through production, harvest, post-harvest handling, and distribution for sale.
